Complex Civil Matters

Leveraging our experience in high‑stakes government enforcement actions and extensive trial work, we are frequently called upon to represent companies and individuals in complex, impactful civil disputes. These matters often involve allegations of conversion, fraud, RICO violations, breaches of fiduciary duty, and violations of consumer‑protection laws. Our trial‑driven approach allows us to assess risk early, shape strategy with clarity, and position clients for decisive results.

Some of our experience includes:

Retained as trial counsel for a nationally chartered bank, to handle a multi-million dollar breach of fiduciary duty and conversion claim brought against the bank by investors in an unrelated company. This matter resolved short of trial.

Retained as trial counsel for a Fortun 100 real estate management company in connection with allegations that the company failed to properly manage a piece of real estate, which resulted in losses of tens of millions of dollars. This matter resolved short of trial.

Represented DolarToday, a website used for the review and analysis of Venezuelan currency in the so-called parallel currency market, in a civil RICO suit in federal court. The Central Bank of Venezuala, who filed the case, alleged various violations of the RICO statute all based on fraud. Achieved a full dismissal of all counts.

Represented a Fortune 100 client in a putative class action airline in connection with allegations of hidden fees. Achieved a full dismissal of breach of contract and unjust enrichment claims which was upheld by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Represented the manufacturer of consumer products in a putative class action alleging fraud, violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and other causes of action. Achieved a full dismissal of all claims which was upheld by the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Represented a Fortune 100 company in a federal civil suit alleging negligence, unlawful detention, and defamation. The matter was successfully resolved at an early stage.

These examples are offered only to show experience and not as a prediction of any potential results of a potential client’s matter. Each case is different and requires different approaches, that will and can, result in different results.
